AVATAR | Live Review 22nd February 2023, KKs Steelmill, Wolverhampton (UK).

A damp Wednesday evening couldn’t stop the citizens from descending on KKs Steelmill, for one night only Wolverhampton became ‘Avatar Country.’ This rescheduled tour has been ploughing its way through the UK and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

Tonight was no different, from the word go with opening track ‘Dance Devil Dance‘ to the last ‘Hail The Apocalypse‘ its Citizens were treated to a blistering set. Ring Master General Johannes Eckestrom, who in my opinion is one of the greatest frontmen out there and had the audience in the palm of his hand all night and even treating us to his balloon modelling skills before bringing out his Trombone in the middle of ‘Puppet Show.’

For me personally the song of the night had to be ‘Tower,’ a stunning ballad from the bands 2014 album ‘Hail The Apocalypse,’ setting an intermit moment with Johannes now playing the piano.  Having seen Avatar live a few times now over the last ten years or so, this being the best so far and proving Avatar without a doubt should not just be another festival band…they should be Festival Headliners..!!!
