Throwing roses into the crowd, The Mysterines warmed up the crowd. Lia Metcalfe raising the temperature in a sheer lace black top accompanied by a white mini shirt on this wet and windy valentines night, wowed the crowd with her alluring stage presence.  It wasn’t long before the crowd started moshing to the Liverpudlian quartets “Last Dance”, featuring tales of Bruno Mars and extraterrestrials. With steaming guitar riffs and husky vocals, the sound resonated across the city’s Wulfrun hall.

Asking the crowd “if it was any ones first time in love? “The crowd went wild as they were treated to “Dangerous”, with the fast paced lyrics and melodies The Mysterines are surely a band to look out for in the future.

With a short interval, the room filled a yellow tint as spotlights lit up the band “Good evening Wolverhampton “ bellowed Frank Carter in the dim lit shadows. The energy rose as he began the first of the three sets for tonight. This was the man who well deserved to interrupt Valentine’s Day to bring the music lovers of The Midlands on a journey from his latest album “Dark Rainbow” that adorned our ears late last month.

“Can I take you home?”, “Brambles” and “Self Love” gripped the audience as they bounced round the newly refurbished venue with the fast guitar riffs and furious lyrics, Frank had the crowd mesmerised immediately.

Dressed sharply in a suit he asked the crowd if they were ready to dance? Before wishing them “Happy Valentine’s Day Wolverhampton, this is about the most important type of love, the love you have for yourself”.

“Shall we get this Valentine’s Day party started ?? “Red smoke engulfed the stage  as the “Devil Inside Me” rode into town the Rattlesnakes‘s rhythm rocking the joint as the crowd bounced without a care in the world.

One for championing equality, Frank came across smoothly on the stage “Girls if you ever want to mosh in a safe Environment this is it ! Valentine’s Day – this is where you can mosh without being kicked in the head or being groped, this is a safe environment. Lads can we move out the way so the ladies can come to the front please”.

Parting the sea of sweaty bodies , the lighting set was on fire, treating the audience to “Tyrant Lizard King” and “Kitty Sucker” it’s fast paced tempos kept the heat coming with “Cupid’s Arrow” bringing the act to a close.

The tinkling keys of “Sun Bright Golden Happening” slowed down the pace of the energetic set list.

As Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes thundered through the crowd’s favourites, this epic performance was one to behold in one of his last UK gigs before hitting the European and American tour with an appearance at Hellfest on 30th June

From climbing in the crowd to standing high on stage , there was never a dull moment tonight.

Smiles of joy erupted as the smooth singer mesmerised his loyal audience, powering through the epic 2 and half hour set list before retiring with an encore of the anthemic “I hate you” and “man of the hour”
