BAD TOUCH ‘Album Review’ ‘Touch The Sky’ – Release Friday 19th June 2020

    Review by JOHN BEAR

BAD TOUCH release their fourth studio album ‘Touch The Sky via Marshall Records.  Songs were originally written in their practice studio ‘The Cabin’ in Norfolk where the band could focus on the songs without any outside interference. Recording at ‘Rockfield Studios,’ London.

If there is one thing British bands do well, it’s ‘hard rock’ in an American bar-style and BAD TOUCH have come up with a really special album that is head and shoulders above the competition. Producer, Nick Brine, has managed to capture the band’s live intensity in all it’s glory. Sounding like THE BLACK CROWES jamming with Reef, they have come up trumps with a vibrant, classy and memorable album.

From the opening track ‘Come A Little Closer’, you’re transported to a sweaty bar with a great funky strut of a number – I can already taste the beer and bourbon! First single ‘Strut’ lives up to it’s name with some great soulful vocals and grooving guitar work. Title track ‘Kiss The Sky’ encapsulates everything this band is about – big, in your face, grooving, funky rock ‘n’ roll.

A real stand-out moment is the inspired choice of the cover version of ‘I’ve Got The Music In Me’ by Kiki Dee – this could prove to be a favourite for radio and a dance-floor filler at clubs. Top draw choice.

If you’re a fan of The Black Crowes, Reef and The Temperance Movement, this is an unmissable album you need in your collection.  Definitely an album to stand the test of time – real class. 8/10.

‘Kiss The Sky’ will be released 19th June on CD, White Vinyl and Digital download.  Available to pre-order from http://www.badtouch.kissthesky.com

‘Kiss The Sky’ will also be supported by a rescheduled nationwide 15-date UK tour which kicks of at ‘The Waterfront,’ Norwich Wednesday 7th April 2021.  All UK tour dates will feature PISTON as main special guest, plus local support.
