American Rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires finally descend on the Utilita Arena Birmingham (UK). Already sweeping most of Europe, this being the bands 20th show of their long awaited European tour. Alice Cooper, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, Hollywood A-lister Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper Band guitarist Tommy Henriksen, along with Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper Band) on drums and Chris Wyse (The Cult) on bass, caused quite ruckus as fans cheered and Johnny’s UK Relatives held up flashing banners screaming “We Love you Johnny,” at a packed out Birmingham’s Utilita Arena (UK).
The now sober, clean, luckiest band to be alive in the world. Hollywood Vampires hit the stage with ‘I Want You Now‘ being an original track from the bands second album release ‘Rise.’ ‘Raise The Dead’ followed. Cooper, Perry and Depp forefront showing to be well in their comfort zone, just jamming and continue with ‘I’m Eighteen (Alice Cooper Band), Five to One/Break On Through To The Other Side (The Doors Cover) ‘The Boggieman Suprise‘ and led by Depp Vampire anthem ‘My Dead Drunk Friends.’
Depp, Cooper and Perry came together, with a desire to celebrate their dead, drunk friends’ by playing the music of their fallen heroes/friends. Self proclaimed to be the “Best bar band in the world” continued to entertain with their 18 song strong set. With tributes continuing including a heart felt tribute to recently fallen friend and British Jazz/Rock icon Jeff Beck, with Depp passing Becks iconic white Fender to Joe Perry who played it with honour, respect and to perfection. Leaving fans craving for more, with some even weak at the knees. The stage drenched in super talent, but never wanting the spotlight, just wanting to invite their audience to celebrate great music.
With encore ‘Schools Out’ (Alice Cooper Band), fans reluctantly start leave, then you hear the opening riff to Black Sabbaths ‘Paranoid,’ the Vampires had returned to the stage for one more Encore, bringing along an old friend back to his home town no less, it was none other than the legendary ‘Tony Lommi‘ (Black Sabbath) what a way to end a show!!
