SAINT AGNES brought their signature blend of alternative, industrial and gothic rock to Concorde 2, delivering a set packed with atmosphere, attitude and intensity from start to finish. The crowd remained fully engaged throughout, singing along, cheering the band on and feeding off their stage presence, while the flashing lighting and bursts of colour added to the ambience and tied it all together. For me, the standout moment was The Blood Beat (Angel in the Marble) which hit incredibly hard live, combining powerful vocals, groove driven instrumentals and an infectious momentum that pulled the whole room together. From the moment they took to the stage, Saint Agnes had Concorde 2 buzzing and full of energy for the night, demonstrating why they’ve earned such a loyal following across the UK underground scene.
BLACK VEIL BRIDES Over the years, Black Veil Brides have built a fiercely loyal fanbase, and that was on full display tonight at Concorde 2. Arriving at the venue, the anticipation surrounding BVB was impossible to ignore, with many devoted fans showing their support by wearing the iconic early-era ‘war paint’ and merch. Seeing that these were being quite cryptically described as an ‘intimate and fan-interactive’ experience, I, and many others, were very excited to experience exactly what that meant. From performing at major festivals such as Download to one as close-knit as Concorde 2, it was clear this show would be unlike any other. As the band came on stage one by one, starting the night off with the fan-favourite debut single Knives and Pens, the crowd roared to life, coming face to face with the band who
have soundtracked a significant amount of their lives. This was followed by a few songs off their newly released album
VINDICATE, which proved to be an incredible success, with fans ‘throwing up their horns’ and singing every word back to them. Of course, there were some more classics mixed into the setlist, such as Sweet Blasphemy, Rebel Love Song and In The End. What truly set the evening apart were the previously mentioned fan-interactive moments woven throughout the show. Rather than keeping the crowd at arm’s length, Black Veil Brides invited fans into conversation, creating memorable moments for everyone involved. Some key moments included Andy Biersack bringing a fan onstage to stamp on her engagement ring after seeing a sign held up in the crowd, letting the audience in on the backstories behind certain songs such as Rebel Love Song and I Am Bulletproof, very elegantly wearing a black veil that had been thrown from the crowd during The Legacy, and making time in between each song to interact with and answer questions from eager fans. Overall, Black Veil Brides truly delivered with this show. It perfectly highlighted that even after years of success, their connection with their audience is what remains at the heart of what they do…
