First, some history..
Welcome to Rockville, or as we Rockvillians like to call it, Rockville, is a multiday music festival that takes place annually in Daytona Beach, Florida, (USA) as it has since 2020, with the sole exception of 2020, due to Covid restrictions. Prior to 2020’s move to Daytona Beach, Rockville was held in Jacksonville, Florida (USA) starting in 2011. In 2011, the attendance was reported as being 10,000 people for a one-day festival. Over the years, it has grown from its humble beginnings to a 4-day festival with 200,000 people in attendance in 2024. Is it the largest in the world? No. Is it one of the best? Yes
WTR takes place in Daytona Beach, FL at the Daytona International Raceway May 15 – 18, 2025. As with most multiday music festivals, there are bands. A lot of bands; over 150 at last count. You can choose to go for a single day, or you can choose to suck it up and go all 4 days. And why wouldn’t you? Did I mention over 150 bands? Yeah, this should be fun with LINKIN PARK, Green Day, Korn, Shinedown, Bad Omens, Incubus, Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Good Charlotte, Pierce The Veil, Sublime, Marilyn Manson, Knocked Loose, Three Days Grace, Halestorm, Mudvayne, I Prevail, 3 Doors Down, Jimmy Eat World, Motionless In White, Beartooth, Mastodon, BUSH, Chevelle, Taking Back Sunday, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, Chiodos, Hollywood Undead, Killswitch Engage, Body Count, and many more. Can’t find a few there that you like? I really don’t know what to tell you. Maybe take up another hobby.
But the real joy of “festival season” isn’t just the bands. In reality, those of us who are festival veterans know that the main attraction is the experience. Welcome to Rockville is run by Danny Wimmer Presents, a veteran festival promoter/producer, who knows how to put on a great experience. The camping, location, concerts, other entertainment including a carnival, a wine garden, and more make it an event that can’t be missed. But the real joy is the loyal participants who you meet as strangers but become lifelong friends. It really is a family reunion that has some cool bands playing at it. I’ll be there every day, camping and having a blast. Tickets can be purchased here: https://welcometorockville.com/passes/
