34 years and still going strong, Poland’s blackened death metal overlords Behemoth return with their thirteenth studio album, The Shit ov God—and it’s every bit as bold, blasphemous, and badass as fans could hope for.

Since their 1991 inception, Behemoth has carved out an unapologetically brutal niche in the extreme metal world, fusing black, death, and classical influences into a sound that’s unmistakably theirs. Whether you’re blasting their back catalog in your bedroom or witnessing their fire-drenched festival performances, one thing’s clear: there’s no band quite like Behemoth.

Their latest record is no exception. Across eight blistering tracks, The Shit ov God captures the band’s signature fusion of theatrical chaos and razor-sharp intensity. It opens with “The Shadow Elite,” an explosive track that sets the tone with pummeling riffs and Nergal’s venomous roar. From there, the album launches into a sermon of sacrilegious rage—taking aim at societal norms and embracing the power of individual defiance.

Tracks like “Sowing Salt” and “To Drown the Svn in Wine” hit with unrelenting force, blending raw aggression with moments of eerie beauty. Guitars scream like tortured demons, drums thunder like an approaching apocalypse, and solos slice through the darkness like divine lightning. “Lvciferaeon” stands out as one of Behemoth’s most intense tracks to date—an infernal war cry that channels both grandeur and devastation.

But Behemoth aren’t just here to rip and tear. They’ve refined their edge with classical elements and atmospheric depth. The title track feels like a doom-laden ritual, complete with choral chants, operatic drama, and Inferno’s surgical drumming driving the procession. It’s haunting, theatrical, and drenched in sacrilegious beauty.

As always, the band closes strong. “Avgvr (The Dread Vulture)” is a towering finale, powered by Orion’s relentless bassline and unexpected sonic twists that remind us why Behemoth remains essential listening. Throughout the album, there’s a sense of purpose that goes beyond performance—The Shit ov God is a sermon for the damned, a call to embrace what the world demonizes, and a powerful middle finger to conformity.

Whether you’re a longtime devotee or a newcomer standing at the gates of hell for the first time, The Shit ov God delivers. It’s loud, it’s vicious, and it refuses to apologize—exactly what we’ve come to expect from the kings of extreme metal.

Break the mold. Disrupt the status quo. Behemoth commands you…
