    Aftershock 2019

California’s largest Rock festival grew even larger in 2019, not only adding more talent, and an extra day, but most importantly, it brought more fans… a record (for Aftershock) 95,000 fans.

For #MischievousMel and I, Aftershock was always one of our favorite festivals because we lived in California, it was a chance to stay with and visit with family in Sacramento, and it was normally our last major music festival of the calendar year. The first of those three things changed in 2017 when we moved to Texas. Last year my family in Sac-Town moved a few hours away. This year, a newer festival in Las Vegas was scheduled the Friday and Saturday after Aftershock. Despite all of our original, personal reasons for this being our favorite festival no longer being relevant, Aftershock still remains one of our favorite festivals for one simple reason – music talent.

This year, for the second time in three years and to the delight of fans far and wide, Tool headlined the closing day of the festival, but this time doing so with new music fans had been demanding, for… ever.

Being one of the last festivals of the year, we normally do not interview many bands because at that point we’ve typically interviewed over 80 bands. Same this year. Bands we did talk to on camera included: Motionless in White

Our first interview with the “Mongolian Musical Marauders” THE HU

and our last interview was a first ever and very special interview making coffee and talking to Badflower on their tour bus…

And now, the rest of the bands shot by either Melissa #MischievousMel Anderson or myself, Wes “Rockwell” Anderson, in alphabetical order…

Besides the bands, Aftershock is also noted for being both family friendly, and some of its wonderful vendors and charities…

Tickets for Aftershock 2020 are already on sale, and the reason why? Metallica!
